Sotogrande, Spain´s Millionaires playground

Sometimes it can seem as if celebrities live on a whole other planet than their fans. Many times it is because celebrities know how to stay out of sight to get time out of the public eye. That is exactly how places like Sotogrande exist. Originally just a small port with the surrounding fishing village of Torreguardiaro being the bigger attraction. After some Philippine businessmen renovated the area, it became a getaway for the wealthy and celebrities. This is due to the importance the development has on privacy. This is what draws the celebrity crowd. They know they can be normal human beings when visiting and not something to just take pictures of and bother. Not to mention most residents partake in the local sporting clubs available. Some include polo, golf, rugby, and tennis. Sotogrande is also relatively close to two airports making it foreign enough to be private but also accessible enough to not cause excessive headache when trying to arrive.

Some luxury properties in Sotogrande go from under €3m for a penthouse or small beach house to a luxury house in Sotogrande going from €12m and up. However, these numbers depend on the accommodations as many of the higher end properties are uniquely designed.

3 tips to expand your network this summer

Many professional events take place during the summer: barbecues, inaugurations, alumni meetings... These events are all good opportunities to develop your network. Here we give you some tips to achieve this goal.

1. Choose the event well. Whether it is a cocktail party at a luxury club on the Costa del Sol or a reception at a luxury house in Sotogrande, making a choice is important. Prefer those events who will allow you to build a network of contacts having the greatest impact in relation to your professional objective.

2. Inquire before the event. It is essential to know who will be present at the event. For example, you can learn about participants through their LinkedIn profile or visit their company's website.

3. Make a good impression. Even if the atmosphere is informal, it is necessary to take care of your presentation and to adopt an elegant dress code. And most importantly, do not forget conventions such as bringing your business cards or looking people in the eyes when you are talking to them.
