5 Tips for Staying Cool During the Summer in Seville

https://www.hotelriberadetriana.com/en/services/pool-solarium

Seville is famous for the world heritage sites, historic monuments, Andalusian culture and unfortunately also its incredible heat in the summer. Seville is the hottest municipal area in Europe with a summer average high temperature above 35 Celsius. If you visit this city in the summer such as in August, you will find the town extraordinarily “empty”. Most Sevillians use their holidays in July and August for spending some cooler time on the beach. But what if you only have holidays in the summer and want to visit this charming city? Here are 5 tips you will find useful for enjoying your summer stay in Seville al fresco.

1) Avoid being under the sun during the hot hours.

It is terrifying when you see 46 degrees on a street thermometer in Seville. Taking into account that most of them are burned along the driveway under the sun, the high numbers are self-explanatory. It also shows the importance of avoiding spending too much time under the exposure of sun in a hot afternoon. In Seville, you can find many outdoor and indoor activities in the summer without having to stand under the sun. The giant gothic dome of the Cathedral, Arabic style gardens at the palace of Alcázar and the patios of traditional Andalusian houses were elaborately designed for keeping the temperature lower inside of the premises.

2) Take care of what do you eat.

Metabolism is the most important activity of human bodies, which consumes and stocks a ton of calories per day. In the heated summer, a Mediterranean diet mainly made up of vegetables, fruits and cereals is not only healthier but also boosts the blood circulation which makes your feel less heavy and sweltering. Therefore, when it comes to your trip, a hotel with good restaurant in Seville should be in your best interest.

3) Take care of what do you wear.

Linen, cotton, silk, polyester or synthetic fibre? Scientists have proven that cotton and linen are still the best materials for summer clothing in terms of airflow and sweat absorption. Light-coloured and loose-fitting clothes are also the most recommendable.

4) Always keep yourself hydrated on your trip.

Everyone knows the importance of hydration on a hot day. I would like to stress that sometimes the local beverages from your travel destination could do a better job than just water. In Seville, the typical Spanish tomato soup/juice Gazpacho is such a perfect beverage for a sizzling day. It combats dehydration with an additional supply of vitamins and salt.

5) Stay in a hotel with pool in Seville.

There are plenty of luxury hotels in Seville. However, Hotel Ribera de Triana has a natural advantage for summer visitors thanks to its unique location. It is sitting right on the riverbank of Guadalquivir in the quiet neighbourhood Triana. Hotel Ribera de Triana has an open air swimming pool, a spa centre with Turkish bath and Jacuzzi, air-conditioned gym, etc. Moreover, this exclusive hotel in Seville has many rooms with city and river views and a big rooftop terrace for drinks. Pool, terrace bar, river location, Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, these are the factors you should be looking for in your hotel in Seville.

Visit Seville in May

April and May. Two months. Sixty days. This is when Seville lives in the season that she has been preparing for the whole year, when there is a multitude of people that you won’t be able to see at other times. All are longing for the arrival of this season when Seville shines with her special color: spring, the season that is specially noted in this city.
At the end of March or the beginning of April, the city starts to feel the bloom of joy and colors with the celebration of Holy Week, during which days the feelings of the Sevillians are materialized through pain to happiness. This is something special that attracts tourists to come to the city, book a hotel and stay for several days.
Two weeks later, Seville softly transforms and substitutes sadness with joy – two feelings contrast like two sides of a bullfighter’s cloak. There arrives the Seville April Fair when parties and happiness pervade the city. Seville is packed with women in flamenco costumes, horse carriages and good wine. It is the starting signal of the season yearned by all Sevillians.

But Seville is still in festivals. Now it is time for the Romería de El Rocío, a pilgrimage in Huelva in which people from all Andalusia participate. The pilgrimage has a special influence in the district of Triana of Seville. Watch the neighbors of Triana singing and praying to the statues of the Virgin while preparing themselves for the pilgrimage; Enjoy the environment in a local bar, typical gastronomy of the region or a drink on the rooftop of a hotel in Seville; take the boat crossing the Bridge of Triana or just stroll around the streets and gardens where the aroma of flowers overflow.

For all above, it is important to find an excellent accommodation that is conveniently close to different districts of the city, just like the Hotel Ribera de Triana. The hotel is located on the riverbank of Guadalquivir in the district of Triana, offering a unique and unrivaled view of the city and river. Don’t forget to ask at the reception of your hotel about different cultural events, most of which are usually held at this time of the year, such as flamenco shows.
So now you know. If you want to visit Seville, there is no better time than spring when the city will show you her most charming and lovely face. Come and discover what Seville has ready to offer you.
